Haute Hideous

|| A dash of 1980's nylon for your mind || Heels vintage Sergio Rossi || Tracksuit Adidas ||
If there's one thing I've noticed in these past few seasons on the catwalk and off, it's that Fashions ugly fetish seems to have had some infectious influence on it's masses of followers. From Celine's SS13 mink lined Birkenstock-esque slides, to Misses Prada's bejewelled take on the infamous 'Teva' hiking sandal in her last spring summer collection. Our notions of taste or distaste for that matter have quite literally been flipped upside down.

The fast fashion high streets McDonaldization of every tumblr worthy catwalk trend has had the masses coveting garments previously regarded as faux pas (e.g Neoprene, Pool slides and Flatforms, to name a few). As Miuccia Prada stated "Ugly is attractive, ugly is exiting, maybe because it's newer" our preconceived notions of beauty or beautiful suddenly become all too conventional and we look to fashion with an edge of tackiness or obserdity for our most directional pieces of the season.
